Game and team rules at Aisti Sport
Aisti Sport's aim is to offer a safe, equal, accessible and encouraging environment to everyone taking part. Our activities are built on community, respect, the joy of being active, and the chance to take part and develop as yourself.
These game and team rules apply to everyone taking part: recreational participants, players, volunteers and others involved. The purpose of the rules is to support a good atmosphere, safe activities and shared ways of working across the whole club. They are intended to strengthen equal, healthy club activity.
Everyone is welcome
Everyone is welcome at Aisti Sport, whatever their sight, age, gender, background, experience or skill level. We want to advance equality, accessibility and inclusion in everything we do.
Bullying, discrimination, harassment, inappropriate behaviour and belittling others are not accepted in the club in any form. Everyone has the right to feel safe, accepted and valued as part of the community.
We respect one another
We treat everyone equally and respectfully in training, games, competitions, events and the club's other activities. We listen to one another, take different needs into account and respect everyone's personal boundaries.
We encourage an open, positive and supportive atmosphere in which everyone can take part as themselves.
We act together as a team
Every member of a team matters. We commit to shared rules, agreed ways of working and schedules, and we encourage one another.
In competitive activity the aim is to develop the team as a whole and to support the growth and development of individuals.
Team selections
Team selections take into account how actively someone trains, their commitment to the activity, the team's shared goals, the level of competition, and the club's values and operating principles. Decisions are made as openly, evenhandedly and respectfully as possible.
The club listens openly to participants and asks players who would like to join teams to come forward. Enquiries are made formally via a questionnaire, distributed at minimum in Aisti Sport's member and participant channel on WhatsApp. In addition, you can register your interest with the team manager, who is obliged to pass on and handle the matter with the club's other relevant team managers or with the club's leadership.
In competitive league activity, the level and goals of the league are taken into account when selecting players. In higher-level leagues, for example, a player's training motivation and level of development are emphasised, whereas in lighter-level leagues the aim is to make it possible for everyone who wants to take part. For occasional triers, or players still working towards a developmental level, the aim is to offer low-threshold competitive opportunities outside league activity where necessary. High-level leagues include, for example, the international elite leagues — such as the men's and women's ECL in goalball — and club team championships, such as European or World Championship level tournaments for adults and youth. In high-level tournaments it is possible to be left out of the player selections regardless of your own wishes, but in that case the decision is explained to the player in a good spirit and constructively.
In high-level competitions it is not essential to canvass interest via an open questionnaire; selections can be made by direct recruitment in pursuit of the best competitiveness. In competitions below international elite level — such as national Championship tournaments and lower-threshold international tournaments — open and transparent canvassing is essential.
Alongside canvassing, an open and transparent way of working includes communicating with and giving reasons to those concerned in team selections. Aisti Sport wants team managers to be able to influence the final teams independently, but ultimately the club's board makes the decisions.
An open and safe culture
We want to maintain an open, safe and constructive culture of discussion. Everyone has the right to be heard without fear of discrimination, bullying or belittling.
Any disputes or problems are addressed early and in good cooperation with all parties. Where participants are under 18, this cooperation also involves their guardians.
Responsibility for your own conduct
Everyone taking part in club activity is responsible for their own behaviour and conduct. Through our own conduct we shape what the atmosphere in the club is like.
We encourage everyone to step in when behaviour is inappropriate and to tell the club's designated people about any problems. A safe, good environment is built together.
We develop and learn together
At Aisti Sport everyone gets to learn, develop and try at their own level. We value feedback, openness and the will to develop what we do together.
What matters most is not perfection, but doing things together, the joy of being active, supporting one another, and a safe community where everyone can feel they belong.
